Announcing our Fall Conference
The Church in Metropolitan Areas will hold its fall conference beginning Monday afternoon, November 7th and concluding Wednesday afternoon, November 9th. The conference will feature two distinct consultations led by Alan Roxburgh of the Roxburgh Missional Network, Vancouver, Canada. Alan is an Anglican priest with extensive experience in new missional paradigms for congregational transformation.
The first consultation will be held on Monday and Tuesday and is designed for congregational leaders who are interested in a missional paradigm shift that focuses on “Joining God: In the Local Neighborhood.”
On Wednesday, we will hold the second consultation on Missional Leadership, especially for Diocesan and Denominational Leaders who are engaged in Missional Work.
The CMA conference will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Union City, NJ. This church, with an extremely small remnant congregation that does not live in the immediate neighborhood, is in quest of joining God in its neighborhood as well as re-imaging itself in its local context.
The conference is coordinated by the Rev. Geoff Curtiss ( gcurtiss@allsaintshoboken.com 201-792-3563). Please contact us for additional information; complete and return the registration form to register for the conference (Registration form here.)
The cost for the three days is $240 for CMA members and $300 for those not a part of our network. People are requested to make their own lodging arrangements. Information on lodging and transportation is available for those requesting it. The cost includes lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday and dinner on Monday evening. On Tuesday evening, those attending may join together at a local restaurant on a self-pay basis.
The Wednesday consultation can be attended separately for $150 per person.
Please return the registration form by Wednesday, October 26th. The consultation is open only to the first 45 people who register. A non-refundable deposit of $100 should accompany your registration form.
